Gonçalo Fonseca (b. 1993) is a documentary photographer based in Lisbon, working on Health and Human Rights stories. In his early teens, he developed a passion for capturing those crucial moments of time, where you could see life pulsating if you looked carefully. Later he discovered the power of storytelling and journalism. He dedicates himself tirelessly to shed light on underreported topics and to amplify the voices of those he photographs. After studying Journalism at the Catholic University in Lisbon (2011-2014), he decided to pursue his passion and dedicate himself to photography. In 2015-2016 he studied the Postgraduate Degree in Photojournalism at the Autonomous University in Barcelona. Since then, he has reported from Spain, Portugal, China and India. His photos have been exhibited in Lisbon, London, Dresden and Bratislava.
