Rose, 16, with her baby Hortense, 2 1/2 months old at the maison Marguerite. Rose fled at the age of 14 to join an armed militia after an argument with her father-in-law. Former child-soldier, she has later been demobilized by the Monusco (The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo) and entrusted to the Maison Marguerite while she was pregnant from a rebel fighter to whom she has been married. She took hair-dessing classes in the institution in 2013/2014 and was later reunified with her family. Maison Marguerite, Goma, DR Congo, May 2014.
