Maria João Salgado, was born in Portugal, in 1992 and has studied at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (IPF). Since 2015 she has been focusing on Documental Photography, mainly developing projects on human rights and alternative living communities. In 2019, she has won the Young Creators Portuguese contest, promoted by the ministry of culture, on the category of photography, and nominated to represent Portugal at the Biannual of Arts of the CPLP, in Luanda, Angola. Has exhibited their projects in several galleries in Portugal and in last September, in Madrid, on the Ibero-American Photography exhibition.
