Joel, 19. She arrived in this brothel 4 years ago, seeking to get healed from a rape which occurred in her home village of Kitchanga. Following on her rape, she gave birth to a child, who lives with an aunt. She hopes to be able to leave this place one day, to start a small business and live with her child. Goma, DRC, March 2017.
The International Academic Forum (IAFOR) was founded in Nagoya, Japan, in 2009 as a research organisation, conference organiser and publisher dedicated to encouraging interdisciplinary discussion, facilitating intercultural awareness and promoting international exchange, principally through educational interaction and academic research.
